no one is quoting prices on the phone, but the estimates are astronomical!

How do folks afford to work when they don't have family to take care of their kids?

I think Dottie has Hailey in daycare with someone she knows. I think she pays like 80.00 a week. Do you know and trust someone who would be willing to do it? You could also ask around at your church.

no one at church.. already asked. And my church is pretty far away in the opposite direction from work.. Does that make sense?

I am at home.. i go one direction for church, totally opposite for work. I want the boys close to me while I am working during their summer break just in case someone has a 'shit their pants' incident (or something equally heinous) ...

I only need daycare from 9-3, and only for a month..

Does Dottie have them with someone here in Norfolk?

No reason to feel guilty. It's Friday of your first week, and you probably don't have much to do work-wise. And your boss has a vested interest in you finding child care, because if you have good child care, you will be at work on time and not worrying about your boys throughout the day.

This is the world of work: There are down times that we fill in by doing personal stuff while we're in the office. We make up for it when we have to stay late and work on a project. Think of it as a big flex-time tradeoff.
