DragonCon, part 1 - Friday

We’d been driving for a couple hours when Atlanta loomed over that rise on I-20, far-off but unmistakable. The car was packed with food, clothes, and all manner of intoxicating beverages. It was early afternoon.

You know, it is similar to one of my favorite McCarthy lines, from either Cities of the Plain or Blood Meridian. It went something like, "the caravans arrived, creeping over the plains like mendicants of some strange, tattered faith."
