I always say that the one thing I really regret about coming to UW early is that cello got pushed aside. Listening to classical music for the first time in a while reminds me of the lost opportunity. I could have been good. I could have even been really good. But I could never have been great ( Read more... )

studying abroad to get honors is definately the quickest way. But dont go for more than a quarter...honors is reluctant to give more than 15 credits of study abroad honors, despite how long you are going to be gone. example/: im away from a year and they still only want to give 15 even though the rome program (1 quarter) gets the same amount...wat....

Anywyas glad to see you're figuring things out and happy to know you will still be with me in 2007 :-)

Yeah, I only need 15 more credits of western/world civ and a seminar. I'd rather go to Rome than Athens, but I need 5 credits of anthropology/sociology for a psych requirement. Neither of the programs may qualify for that, so we'll see.

Oh man, keep in mind that you are 19. YOU ARE STILL A TEENAGER. I know there's a lot of pressure these days to get your life all figured out (especially for advanced, intelligent people like yourself) but seriously. It's okay to not have everything decided. Where will I be in 2007? What will I be doing? WHO KNOWS.

You know my feelings on the kids thing.. but everyone is different.. the world definitely doesn't need more consumers, though. I think love/marriage and children are two things it is SO POINTLESS to worry about, especially at a young age, because you really can't control it before it happens. I mean, you can control having kids by adopting, but it's not like you're doing that anytime soon regardless.

Oh and Oakland vs. New York? I would take NYC no contest!! Seriously.

Obviously I have no credibility about your greatness, but I just want to say that as usual, I'm totally impressed by your together-ness in planning your future.
Additionally: I'm never going to be great at music and I so don't care. My dream future involves being a broke musician playing in an orchestra and living/hanging out with other awesome broke musicians. Or maybe a little less broke and slightly less awesome; I could live with that.
