It begins

Thanksgiving dinner part II was awkward for me. My parents' friends got drunk and kept talking about me getting married.

Dad: "My biggest wish is for you to marry a Korean man."
Friend #1: "But if that doesn't happen, an Asian guy is still pretty good, don't you think?"
Friend #2: "I am courteous and perhaps a little too drunk and very much too ( Read more... )

I want parents' friends to give me money...
Why so many cookies?? That's amazing, I can't wait to get home and bake Christmas cookies! It's going to be sooo intense! And delicious!

My thoughts on tongue piercings, and most facial piercings in general: NOOOOOOOOOOOO. Noses can be cute on some people. I guess an eyebrow is acceptable.. but if you do anything in the lower-face region, especially mouth/chin, I will punch you right in the piercing. Also I don't even like gauged ears or industrials or any weird shit like that. I love you no matter what you look like, but I'm just saying.

I agree with this fine person. I don't really care about the industrials, but gauged ears are just gross. No opinions on tongue rings, other than they scare me.

-Opinions from the 100% unpierced.

I hate gauged ears too. Loose stretchy skin = not cool. Plus, that's something that won't go away whereas piercings will close up. I actually really dislike nose piercings for some reason. A piercing around the mouth feels like it would balance out the industrial and eyebrow though. Please don't punch me, I'll make you cookies!

Thats such crap (I love you, Emily).
And tongue peircings don't even hurt that much, from what I heard... and my best friend has hers done (and I've known many others). Piercings are hot, especially industrial. I really like the vertical labret/side labret. Anyway, do it!

okay so apparently I'm the only one who has a tongue piercing writing here. if you read the website I linked you, you'll find that it heals faster that any other piercings and despite whatever people think and get told by their friends, is very unlikely to become infected.

Mine hurt for two days and was a little bit annoying. It didn't affect my speech patterns and you can't really see it unless I point it out. That'll vary person to person of course. I don't know what you've heard that's bad but I'll tell you about my experience if you want to know more

gauged earlobes are generally ugly, industrials are generally hot

oops I didn't mean to sound like a jerk just because I have one but because of that website that seems reputable. also I rinsed mine out with mouthwash after every time I ate for a couple weeks and did a couple sea salt washes and that was all

Like I said above, I hate gauged ears. The bad reactions I've had are pretty much every single guy and some girls going "Tongue ring, huh? SEX" and some guys saying "I'm going to have to take advantage of that *wink wink*." My mouth nor any other place on my body is a penis receptacle, don't talk to me like that... My lab partner said that his female friends all tell him guys treat them bad after getting their tongues pierced (new guys they meet, not old friends), though he didn't elaborate.

I thought about the tongue because yours is pretty. And none of the piercings I picked feel "hardcore" to me. I don't know if it's possible for me to look hardcore.

Don't tongue piercings chip your teeth and sometimes plaque grows around it, or are those urban legends? The clicking nose that goes on when you have a tongue piercing and talk is kind of cool though. Are you going with the industrial instead of the orbital, though? You're going to look so rad with your eyebrow pierced and all that jazz; I'm proud to call myself your wife.

you get it pierced with a long bar and then are supposed to go back after the swelling has gone down and get a short one so it hits your teeth less
