cramps can be relieved in several ways.
1. heating pad. this is the easiest thing to get hold of. just place over abdominal area and you feel a LOT less bad.
2. midol. special cramp relief type pill. from what i've found, if you don't take it AS SOON AS you start feeling like you might get cramps, you will throw this pill up because it won't get its chance to work. so if you get these be on top of things or it'll be a waste!
3. birth control. this is the most expensive but holy FUCK did it work wonders for me. D: i used to vomit profusely every first day of mine blood omen and now i feel NOTHING! glorious nothing.
the best combination when you don't have much money is midol AND heating pad together. try them next time!

And since you've been online less, I was contemplating on calling you, but I had considered that your phone plan had changed, so that's why I haven't yet. Going over minutes can be much worse than paying a little more for a better phone plan. Does your phone plan include free minutes in the evenings or anything? Also, it costs just to recieve text messages, regardless of whether you read/reply, so I hope your friends will be considerate of that.
If there was anything I could do to help you guys out, I honestly would. (I'm still jobless at the moment) I hope things get better for you.
Oh, and as far as cramps go, if you work out regularly, they will either be non-existent or considerably less painful.
