(ooc: ignore - Andrew's Backstory and Extended Bio)

Apr 18, 2007 12:01

Andrew’s mother, Faye, is a pureblood, and the sister of Katie Bell’s mother. So, despite not having any siblings of his own, Andrew was never at lack for companiable cousins. His father, Austin, is a muggleborn, and grew up a football fanatic - something he instilled into his son from a very early age.

When he arrived at Hogwarts, the Sorting Hat did consider at length placing him in Hufflepuff, but decided that Gryffindor was the best house for him in the end - and while he appreciates and enjoys Cad and Summerby’s company - he is mighty glad he doesn’t have to share a dorm with them; though he has to admit, sharing with the likes of Colin can be a nightmare at times. And his best friend, Jack, has his sloppy habits too.

Something of a tidy person, he is in perpetual disgust at the state of his dormitory - but gave up years ago on trying to get his friends to clean up after themselves, and hence has resigned to keeping just his bed clean.

Less excitable, opinionated and outspoken than his fellow Gryffindor classmates, Andrew’s voice seems at first to be the muted one. But in reality, he is more or less a steadier character - armed and ready to shut his friends up with a word or a hex: depending on which is more likely to be encountered first. He is the more pragmatic of his friends and the most reliable. However, one would be exceedingly wise to not evoke his anger, for when annoyed, Andrew has the unfortunate tendency to express himself in the fashion of an erupting volcano.

But don’t let this exterior fool you. He is just as kooky as the rest of them, and on the matters of his behaviour as a drunk, in the words of Demelza Robins, “Let’s just not go there. At all. Please.” Seventeen on the 30th of December, he has been enjoying the freedom of buying firewhiskey for quite some time now - and nominates it his favourite drink.

He attends Charms Club, doesn't seem to have a great handle on Transfiguration - but after a bit of elbow grease, seems to average well in the subject. Though he loves to support his team, and leaves Gryffindor matches with a terribly hoarse voice which is usually lost the following day, he has resolved to never get on a broom again unless he absolutely has to.

He is suspected of having a crush on a certain Lisa Turpin, seventh year Ravenclaw - and while he has never denied nor confirmed the fact, some less merciful and tactful classmates do take to teasing him on the matter.
