Oh, I haven't read these in years! In the middle of all my high school teenage angst, I wrote "Inner Sight" as a metaphor for peer pressure, but I bet the message got lost within all the cheesiness and my rampant abuse of a thesaurus. A lot of really great artwork in these issues, though.

The writing might have been a bit cheesy, but it wasn't as bad as you think. It was one of my favorite stories at SE.

That's ok, my plots always got lost in ridiculous cheesy romance!

These showed up after I made my exit, but it's nice to see that stuff still sitting around "gathering dust". As much trouble as we had over the course of SE's lifetime, I overall remember the experience quite fondly. Rose colored glasses of nostalgia? Perhaps, but it was great feeling a part of a community with like interests. Different activities have replaced it, but the memory of SE will live on.

And I still have my original version of Rebel Yell, unfinished as always, sitting on my hard drive as well.

I stubbornly refuse to remove my rose coloured glasses of nostalgia! :D

Thanks for sharing these again, Jake. We totally kicked ass in such a nerdy way, it was sweet.

Thanks a lot for posting this, Jake. Kind of reminds me how I changed since then. Oh, what law school has done to me...And with Starcraft 2 just around the corner and Diablo 3 soon to follow, one has to wonder if some of us who rather slipped off fanfiction writing (me being one of them) might just rekindle the spirit of fanfiction.

But yeah, I'm somewhat with Angel and Jaxom; I remember a lot of good things about SE, especially the people, and I won't let the bad memories cancel how much I grew through this website. And judging by how you got 10 replies counting mine now, apparently SE still rekindles good memories for several people. I still remember staying up till 3 doing those darn updates as Fiction Manager. Good times. ;)
