Why we need conscripted service...

So, here is a woman who, back in 2002, probably thought she was being patriotic and signed up for the Army, but most likely was interested in the free training and bonuses being paid. Now, if you actually read the CONTRACT you sign for any of the services, it states you have to do a minimum of eight years. That's right, eight years. No exceptions. ( Read more... )

If anyone reading this still thinks nobody gets called up for IRR... my husband's best friend just got re-activated two weeks ago, after being "out" since early 2007. Chances are that if my husband hadn't enlisted in the National Guard and gotten activated and deployed through the Guard, he'd have been called back to the Army, too, because his best friend isn't the only one from their unit to get called back into service.

maybe your contry should get the fuck out of other countries' business... and then you wouldn't need so much cannon fodder in your defence forces?
