It is not born of the Spirit so that you may tolerate God. The heavenly Father is long-suffering toward us, not the other way around. This long-suffering is made manifest in your life towards your brothers and sisters in Christ, so that you may share the weight of each others burden in the Lord.
Ephesians 4
3 With all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forebearing one another in love.
This is born through the Holy Ghost out of love for your brothers and sisters in Christ, and out of love for Christ...
Colossians 3
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Bowels of mercies means heartfelt compassion. As the fruit is being brought to maturity within, you must be forbearing and forgiving towards your brothers and sisters in Christ. For they are experiencing a journey to spiritual maturity as well. And because none of us has arrived yet, long-suffering is given to help us to bear with one another.
2 Timothy
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with long-suffering and doctrine.
Blessings to all.
