Gabe's Panel
(link to Vancon 2009 Master Post) fickleone and I jotted down some quick notes about Gabe's panel. These are random notes in no particular order.
- Gabe is liking being married. Writing together. He writes a paragraph, she says it's funny/awesome. Then she writes one and he does the same.
- We rode in the elevator with Gabe. Valeria, one of the convention volunteers, was guarding him. Gabe was back in the corner of the elevator and Valeria was blocking him from us fangirls with him standing behind her and her arm crossing over to the elevator rail. He was very friendly. The elevator was kind of full of fangirls!
- He was asked a question about his character being killed and he said it was a one word answer and asked the audience to tell him what the word was..."Kripke!" everyone replied.
- He was asked about his first celebrity crush. Someone called out 'Jensen'! He replied, "But he wasn't the first." Then he said Jennifer Aniston, but then realized she wasn't the first--Annie Potts was. He liked Designing Woman. Which led him to say that Designing Woman could have set him up for a crush on Jensen. Then he said, "I can't believe I just said that."
- How/why did he get into acting. He said he lived in LA, and kinda didn't wanna because everyone did that. But then he tried improv with an audience about our size. After it was over, he went off stage and said, "Oh God, I can't do anything else because I REALLY liked that!"
- He mimicked his wife looking at her engagement ring while driving. He'd never liked wearing jewelry before. He really liking being married. The Asylum convention paid for their delayed honeymoon. A week in London and a week in Paris. He said it was the most awesome thing to show his wife the Eiffel Tower for the first time because she'd never been out of North America.
- He got a new dog. A small one. Showed a photo of the dog on his iPhone. He'd never wanted a small dog before.
Gabe got to be my guinea pig for testing out my new lens in the large conference room. His was the first panel I shot, so a lot of the photos were over or under exposed and/or blurry. But remember ::: I LOVE Gabe (what's not to love? He is so friendly and so funny.)
