Election 2012

Nov 07, 2012 11:32

Unsurprisingly, my brother-in-law is a bit of a grumpus this morning. He posted this on Facebook: "The vitriolic, caustic, nasty, gloating this morning is precisely what I expected from the left. It's the new 'tolerant' normal. Hate is great ( Read more... )

I might have had a difficult time choosing between Chris Christie and Obama after Sandy. Good job they made the choice easy.

Yay, marriage equality! Yay first gay female Senator (who admits to it, amirite, Nancy Pelosi?)! Yay America deciding by a pretty large margin that actually we much like rape.

I'm done asking why you still read your brother-in-law's posts. Clearly it is a sickness with you.

Oh and FIRST.

LOL I almost missed your tiny little addendum. I was scrolling down to find the reply button. It's truly an art, grammatical and layout comedy ( ... )

You've got to use the space you have. This is what Twitter has taught me. Also, say vagina and bitch a lot.

I've forgot, I forgot immediately. I don't think the not giving a shit is such a problem when it is backed by actual competence and ability to know when not giving a shit is appropriate.

Possibly. Maybe America does like rape but doesn't like the idea of having to keep the children.

First strip women of the vote, THEN push your barefoot-and-pregnant agenda. Lol, a public service announcement for all dipshits.

I literally said the first name that came to mind. I don't fantasize about people who have anything to do with politics unless they are in charge of a country (literally or in a movie) or are Anderson Cooper.

You have such a hate crush.

"I don't think the not giving a shit is such a problem when it is backed by actual competence" Did you mean "not giving a shit is NOT such a problem..."? You never used to be this sloppy with grammar, although I do realize you have more on your plate than LJ anymore ( ... )

Wish I could take sole credit for CO staying blue, but I'm sure my fellow Dems helped (had me sweating for awhile though. Swore I saw Romney shit EVERYWHERE this past month).

(No, I haven't blocked you! I thought everyone who cared about my costume saw it on Facebook, but I can certainly post here too :) Tery's really made it and you haven't seen that yet, so okay)

Oh yes, I did see your post on FB, but I thought you would have more photos of you in action. Although, not really killing anyone I hope. Also, I don't think I saw T in her full costume. I would have remembered seeing her in nothing but plastic wrap. (It would have been funny if she went in plastic wrap ala Fried Green Tomatoes, just to mix things up a bit.)

I don't have anything to contribute except that one time I heard someone say something like, "Trickle-down economics? It's more like piss-splash economics."

LOL Got it in one. We fell for it for 30 years. I think it's safe to say the experiment was a failure.

I told a friend of mine that celebrating wins for basic human rights isn't the same as gloating. I'm not going to stop being happy that we won and misogyny lost just because someone on FB doesn't like it.

Amen. I usually filter my political posts from him because I don't want to start anything. Tery's gay brother Jason may have overdone the "celebrating" a tad, but I know he was just as peeved by all the smirky debate comments as I was.

I don't hide the anti-misogyny posts, though. I think those guys' comments spoke for themselves and there was absolutely no defense or argument to be made. Plus my brother-in-law supports gay rights and abortion so probably wouldn't take umbrage. If you get a second, check out the angry feminista essay I just wrote up top in reply to kavieshana, as I'm sure you'll agree with it.
