That is CRAZY! You see things like this on TV, but you never really meet someone who has gone through it.

I really want to know what that missing piece is!

well, if i ever know anyone in this sort of situation i'll be sure to tell them that private investigators are typically a waste of time and money as well as a good source of heartache.

it's always been strange to me how this sort of thing was so common on the talk show circuit and THEY never seemed to have a hard time tracking people down (often before they even record the show so they can "surprise" everyone with a reunion on the air) when almost everyone they have on talked about trying to use different private investigators through the years. of course, back when my mom used to watch those talk shows it was not uncommon to see the same faces attached to different names and different situations, so i wasn't willing to just take their word for it.

whoa. that is crazy. i thought andrew's family tree was weird, but at least he knows what happened. his grandmother was given to a neighboring family to take care of her during the depression. when his actually relatives started making more money, they asked for her back. but the informally adoptive family ran away. i call it kidnapping. haha. andrew calls his great grandparents "the kidnappers." when andrew's mom did the family tree, they don't even acknowledge the real family.

Wow! Took me a day to get to read this (my computer is so slow and keeps freezing) How mysterious! In that case, the in-laws are less crazy? I hope you figure it out.
