Wow... that's an awesomely addictive story. So cool that you guys made such progress after all these years. Makes me want to dig into the hazy moonshiner-mountain-people side of my dad's family to get a few answers myself.

Wow. That is definitely a story, quite an interesting one.
I always zoom in on the silliest things so forgive me but, when you say your mom was talking to her cousin and mention "other family members" do you mean blood family or adopted family?
Either way, it's great that she went from knowing nothing to having pictures and an idea of things. Sucks she paid someone for nothing when you guys had better detective skills yourselves!

Biological family members. Unfortunately, she has no adopted family members left. They are all dead and gone. And I say "other family members' cause I don't know them. I've only met some of that family once or twice and I'm terrible with names! LOL
