When you find something that clicks with you, you often stop looking at others and go into the "making it mine" mode. That is, paperwork, hoops you have to jump through, etc. And once you are in it, provided you found one that you didn't compromise too much on, other "perfect" ones don't matter so much. Once you buy the house and make it yours, you kind of make a place in your heart for it. Like a pet. This is provided you find the one that is big enough, has the features you want, etc.
When your husband drags his feet, what sort of concerns does he mention?

The house I'm getting isn't my "dream" house, but it's in a nice neighborhood, right price, and I can do whatever the hell I want to it. Also, bonus, I'm not throwing $1500 a month away on a rental. I get to spend $700 on something that is mine.
