Okay, so the US federal election is over and they have a clear victory...

Thank fuck for that, hopefully this means that local (read Australian) news services will actually start devoting news time for stuff that is actually relevant to us

It has more to do with us being tied very securely to America (Thanks to a certain toad of an ex-PM) and not wanting to deal with a dipshit of a president again.
That said, I could have done without a year and a half of bullshit. How the hell do they ever achieve anything?

Man, that's fucked up. I knew the rest of the world paid attention, but I didn't realize it was as bad abroad as it was here in the US. And I imagine, as you said, that it's at least twice as annoying since it isn't even your government.

And thanks for the congratulations. Hopefully in the future there will be less reason for our politics to clog your news media, and when we do intrude, it will be for positive reasons instead of the latest installment of "Look what the Americans Bollocksed Up This Week!"
