MM Question

Hey, so does anyone recall if the Monk skills originally allowed for one sword to be a monk-equivalent weapon?  I seem to recall that it used to be that way; now my Kensai/Samurai/Monk fit seems slightly derpy!  Hooray derpy fit!

"You may not use Monk skills while holding a shield. Monk attacks can only be used with staff, one handed club, kama, and Martial Arts attacks using green claw props."

^ From version 1.1 of the rulebook. Looks like it's only ever been those weapons.
