The streak is broken.  I've had my driver's license for ten years and I got my first speeding ticket today.  I won't bore you with the details and the inevitable explanation of why it isn't my fault.  It's there, and now I'll have to spend one of my days off going to 'court' to keep it off my record and cover all the fees associated with it.

I can sympathise. I've had three speeding tickets in twelve years. After going on a speed awareness course earlier this year I now spend every journey being tailgated by people who feel I'm driving too slowly. I'm not sure which is worse....

Yeah I can understand. I've been more aware of my speed these last few days, and I'm getting blown off the road like you wouldn't believe. Of course, I think this whole write me a ticket thing backfired on them, because it doesn't feel like such a big deal and now I'm wondering why I spent ten damned years driving so carefully.
