An interesting video

Here is a link: Youtube video about being fat.Interesting video. I can't say I agree 100% with all of it though. The parts I like is that society is too obsessed with insanely small people, and that someone can still be healthy on the inside no matter how their outside looks ( Read more... )

I don't know how I feel about that. It's clear though that people are getting fatter, no matter how obsessed we are with skinny people! <3

I know. And it is dumb to treat people differently because they're fluffy or for any reason.

BUT. What is the worst, for me, is seeing so many kids suffering. When I was in elementary school there were maybe a handful of big kids. I visited my boyfriends little sister recently and in her classroom of maybe 30 kids it seemed like every other one was fat. Adults I could really care less about, if they don't want to be responsible with their own health, it's their choice, but kids don't know any better. It's a mess.

ANYWAY, I hope thursday is liking you! <3

Man, I wish I could think like her, but I can't stop associating being thin with being happy.

Yeah, this video's been making the rounds all over the place. I don't agree with it 100% either. I mean, I'm overweight, but if I eat healthy I lose weight. And by healthy, I mean 3 meals a day of HEALTHY food, I don't mean starving myself. And being considered "obese" makes you susceptible to all kinds of other things. I don't think you should associate being thin with being happy, but still... take some responsibility for your own health, ya know?

my two cents ... lilgrrllost March 22 2007, 13:50:56 UTC
i think being obsessed with be insanely small is sad. there are so many young girls that seem to only care about their weight and how thin they are. i don't remember being 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 or any thing older than that and obsessing over my weight. i'm heavier right now than I'd like to be, but that's after having three kids and i still think i look good, i would just like to "tighten up" some areas. i'm not looking to be 100 pounds or anything even close. I do feel it's important for people to be happy, but healthy. People have gotten so lazy with their eating habits and lack of exercise and I think all the fast food, which is so easy to just go get, is a huge thing with people gaining weight.

I LOVE that!! Thank you for sharing it!! I DO eat healthy, but don't lose weight. I eat SMALL portions, but I don't lose weight. OK, so I don't exercise, and that is likely most of my problem. I'm so tired of having no clothing choices other than overly baggy, ugly shit. Finding something halfway cute, halfway tailored and professional looking in bigger than a 14...forget it. I'm doomed to baggy shirts. She looked GREAT in that video, I wonder where she found her clothes!
