I just had a similar situation in California. I was parked on the shoulder of a freeway, and was sideswiped. Ultimately there were 6 cars involved, so I wasn't even sure who hit me. There was no expectation that we should deal with each other, CHP took care of it all.

I am not an insurance adjuster. You are not supposed to turn around in the median, but they had opportunity to give you a ticket and didn't- I would assume you are ok. And typically when you are rear-ended, they are "at fault". Why did they follow you at high speed? That is crazy.

They were in a Lexus. So we can assume they were insured! Or that they have resources. See a doctor and make sure everything is in place. I am getting PT after my accident, and, I hear, "pain and suffering". You may deserve it, this has been stressful for you.

Wish I was around in the am to take you to breakfast, I am under the gun at work though. You have a fun time at Comicon, forget about this. The drive back will be fine, too- just relax.

There are numerous ways of recovering from this. And, it's not like you are in Morocco or something, you are in California, USA, where there's lots of help available for everything. I'm just up the 605 in Monrovia, not 30 miles away to assist, as well.

I am so sorry to hear about this!

Under the circumstances, the CHP officer has the option to report the Lexus driver for a DMV re-examination, which could result in him losing his license. There's no requirement that he do so - and I don't know if he can tell you if he did so.

Here's hoping you can de-stress and enjoy the rest of your visit. I live in Glendale - not right nearby, but if I can help somehow please ask.

I heard about this yesterday morning and I was shocked. I am glad you guys (and your car, mostly) are OK, though. Go find a sauna and relax!
