surprised?

It is 2:30 in the morning. The house is peaceful. There is the static hum of John's TV, and the whirling sound that comes from the computer, but other than that, it is quiet. Joel, this sounds wonderful. I love how God can shake us until we calm down.

I started tutoring again this week and I am reminded of how much I love it.

Isn't this baseball season yet? I need to come by sometime and hang out.

You should. Early in the season is so beautiful. You have guys who will never amount to anything hitting .671, you have optimism in Kansas City and Pittsburg, the Brewers just waiting to suck, day games in Chicago, drunken brawls in Baltimore, and Philly fans booing by the third or fourth home game, calling for Burrells head. A baseball season is a flower. It grows, matures, flourishes, and withers. It blooms and dies. I love baseball. Another thing... I'm more agreeable early in the season. A Yankee's win doesn't give me heartburn. And I find it so fascinating and compelling to watch the Red Sox build a huge lead, knowing they will self destruct, but not knowing when, why, or how. Will the catalyst be a dropped flyball, a base-running blunder, an 18 inning loss, or an umpire error ? Opening Day should be a National Holiday. It should be on a Friday or a Monday, all teams playing, all day games. Maybe even a double header or two ( ... )

That was beautiful.

Optimism in Pittsburg is my favorite, and I forgot the Brewers even existed. Maybe this year they will be my new favorite team. With baseball, anything could happen.
