I lied about waiting till the TdF. I wanted to write something, and
harbek suggested some Jan/Klödi. And I was, of course, happy to oblige.
TITLE: In the Alps
PAIRING: Jan Ullrich/Andreas Klöden (and a small hint of Jan Ullrich/Lance Armstrong)
RATING: PG-13
WARNING: Nearly-naked Jan (Which isn't really a bad thing ...)
DISCLAIMER: I have absolutely nothing to do with Jan, Andreas, or the T-Mobile team. These events never happened; this entire story is fiction.
NOTES: This takes place in November 2005, at the T-Mobile team get-together in the Austrian Alps. I have no idea how long they stayed at the cabin, so just humor me. Enjoy!
Leaving the cold of the Austrian Alps behind them, the members of the T-Mobile team trudged into the Lindauer cabin. The sound of stomping feet echoed off the walls, followed by a symphony of rustling as coats and boots were slid off. The majority of the team split up to go either sit by a fire or get something hot to drink. A few of them, Jan Ullrich included, set off in search of somewhere comfortable to warm up.
It didn’t take long for the captain of the German squad to come across a bathroom. He stepped inside and looked around, then peered out the door. As far as he was concerned, no one would mind him taking a quick shower. He closed the door and slid off his clothes. Anxiously he stepped into the shower. The effect of the hot water was instantaneous. Jan felt all the cold that had crept under his skin melt away in no time at all, and he all thoughts of the long cold trek he’d just made vanished along with it.
Andreas Klöden had found himself a seat next to the fire and Linus Gerdemann. Linus, being a newcomer to the team, was keen to find out what Andreas had to say. The two had a good conversation, discussing various races and tactics and people. After a while, Linus mentioned something to which Andreas said he’d better off asking Jan about. He frowned a bit and looked around.
“Speaking of Jan, have you seen him since we got here?”
“I haven’t, actually.” Linus glanced around as well.
Andreas stood up.
“Oscar, have you seen Jan?” Oscar shook his head. “Huh. Guess I’ll have to go find him.”
“Don’t worry about it.” Linus laughed a bit. “I’m not that eager to know.”
Andreas laughed as well.
“It’s bothering me now. I want to find out what’s better than us.” He gave a sslight wave and took off to find Jan.
After a little bit of wandering, Andreas found himself down a hallway. He peered into the open rooms, and stopped in front of the only closed door. He raised an eyebrow and opened it, and was greeted by an entirely naked Jan who had just finished wrapping a towel around his waist.
“Oh. Sorry!”
Jan looked up, unsure whether to be surprised or amused.
“Haven’t you ever heard of knocking?”
Andreas had to smile.
“We’ve been looking for you. Well, I’ve been looking for you.” He watched Jan pick up his clothes. “You know, I feel a bit privileged right now.”
“Why is that?”
“Not everyone is lucky enough to catch Jan Ullrich just out of a shower like this. I thought I only people such as Lance and Sara got such honors.”
Andreas smirked. Jan shot him a look that was hardly amused.
“Right. Sorry, sorry.” Andreas held up his hands defensively.
Jan had been rather upset once Lance had retired. The two had been pretty close - in more ways than one - and, as the famous William Shakespeare once wrote: Parting is such sweet sorrow.
“You need something to get your mind off Lance, because obviously your girlfriend isn’t cutting it.”
“Oh?” Jan’s interest was caught. “And I assume you know just what that something is?”
“As a matter of fact …” Andreas looked down the hallway, then closed and locked the bathroom door. “Don’t take this too seriously. It’s like a trial run.”
“Aren’t we supposed to take those seriously?”
Jan cast his team mate a wary look. He had a pretty good idea about what was going through the other man’s head. And, truth be told, he’d thought about it occasionally, too. After all, Andreas was an attractive man. Jan wasn’t exactly sure where he stood on the matter, though. For one thing, it all seemed a bit sudden. Jan couldn’t find a lot of evidence that suggested his friend thought about him like this. Secondly, if Jan was going to ever try something like this, he would want to properly clothed and not so exposed. But all this thinking did nothing.
Andreas didn’t wait for a response from his captain. He brushed his lips against the corner of Jan’s mouth. Jan shivered slightly, partly at the fact that it was Andreas doing this, partly at the slight bit of cold that still lingered on Andreas’ lips. Another brush of lips, and soon the two were connected in a kiss that went from simple to a fight for dominance in a matter of seconds. Neither one could say why.
Andreas pulled his mouth away from Jan’s, taking a moment to suck slightly on his lower lip, and trailed kisses down his neck. Jan tensed up momentarily when Andreas kissed the part of his neck that suffered the most after his crash through his team car. Andreas gave Jan an apologetic look before continuing.
Two pairs of hands began wandering. Jan felt it was unfair that he was in practically nothing, and tugged slightly at Andreas’ shirt. The two shifted a bit, accidentally grinding their hips together, earning quick and pleased responses. Andreas was just about to pull at the towel Jan wore, when a call from one of the other team mates announced they were going back out into the cold.
Jan and Andreas took a moment to stare at each other.
“Hurry up and get dressed. You’ll die if you go outside in just that.” Andreas grinned and left the bathroom, leaving Jan alone.
As he picked up his clothes and started to get dressed again, Jan mused to himself. Andreas had no right to just barge into the bathroom and pull a stunt like that. The only thing Jan could do was seek out revenge. With a mischievous grin, and a glint in his eyes to match, Jan hurried out of the bathroom to join the rest of his team.
