At least he's asking the questions, and acknowledging that young people are more often the victims of violence than the perpetrators... it's a step in the right direction...

Holy crap! This is the Prime Minister asking these sorts of questions? It's like, I dunno, he's actually taking an interest and thinking about stuff!

Yes, indeed. However, unless he is asking WHY families need to work so much 'in this day and age', it looks a bit like the family's fault - the old latchkey kid thing.

Plus the old techno fear - nothing wrong with evolving forms of communication and interaction, as long as they are safe. Kids needing to feel connected to their networks is not a new thing, it just means that instead of spending hours on the phone to their friends, they might be spending more time online with their friends!

The last sentence is great, though. About time someone admitted this!
