I will never forgive the movies for making James a Seeker.

I...never payed enough attention to that Oo Like if somebody would've asked me I would've only said he played Quidditch and pretend that this is a satisfying answerxD

But yeah small changes like that are rubbish, I get the intention of making the bigger connection for Harry who was just singled out to be a Seeker, but still the fact that he is playing the same sport his father played should be enough.

I think that's why it bothers me, it's a meaningless change in the long run and it makes Harry seem like James 2.0.

I hated that they left out the potion thing at the end with the logic puzzle and that the first movie was the time they started taking small things away from Ron, like the whole exchange between the trio when they fight the devil snare...

And I missed the whole drama about getting rid of Norbert and how that actually got them detention and not just Malfoy seeing them at Hagrids with the dragon.

I think they did a good job with the adaption overall though.

I think it's one of the better adaptations. I'm bothered by the little changes too, but overall this one is probably my favorite to watch? The whole build up to the Sorting is still my favorite scene from the movies. Riding across the lake and getting that first view of Hogwarts, the first shot of the Great Hall...fantastic stuff. I'm pretty much willing to forgive everything else (except the thing about Ron since this is the movie where they started taking things away from his character and they never. fixed it).

I swear that at least half the theater added the "in the Sahara!" when Fred and George are congratulating Harry in the hallway.

I still add it, every time I happen across that scene.

For the most part, though, I was impressed at how much of the book made it in. Granted, I haven't seen a lot of movies adapted from books after having read the books.. but I was highly satisfied with the end product. <3
