That was really interesting. Frodo really did play it close to the vest on who he would have passed the Ring to, if he found he wouldn't be able to keep and carry it.
The objects you picture here are just great. I half expected to see more drawings but was pleased to see many real items. How clever of you to find or create things to fit the story. I'm truly empressed.
Once Frodo found out exactly what the Ring was, there was no way he would have left it to anyone he was fond of or cared about. He was determined to get it out of the Shire and away from those he loved. Of course, he believed he would be leaving it in Rivendell--just like he believed he would be leaving Merry and Pippin behind.
Before he knew what it was, it was simply another trinket of Bilbo's. One with some magic and a bit of mystery behind it. It would probably have ended up going to either Pippin or Merry as part of their residual inheritance. Merry, at least, would have *known* it was magical. But until Gandalf made his revelation, he would not have known it was evil, any more than Frodo did. Pippin would have discovered its use fairly early on, but still he wouldn't have known what it truly was.
We had a lot of fun searching out the "artifacts". I am hoping to coax Jackie into some more drawing sooner or later, though.
That was an interesting read. It too was sad and amusing in places.
I half expected to find a clue as to what it was that caused such stark reactions, at the end of this chapter. But nope I’m still hanging on that proverbial cliff.
Estë concentrates and sends out *get-busy-and-post-the-next-chapter vibes* :p
IMHO anyone that reads the story and not the Author’s notes is doing themselves an injustice.
Ah, but we've enjoyed every minute of doing the research!
Well, hobbits are hobbits, and they bounce back quickly from sadness, especially when Frodo provided them with so many wonderful memories to relive as well.
No, I'm afraid we are not that kind - we didn't leave any clues at all! *evil grin* Rest assured that we are busy writing the next chapter and will post it as soon as possible.
Oh, thank you! We gave them a lot of thought and really did mean for the Author's Notes to be an integral part of this story. It means a lot to us when someone notices and appreciates them.

Thanks again, and I can't wait for more.
