Crash!

My laptop computer at home is dead. As in door nail. May it rest in peace. Since the new laptop is not due to arrive until Monday, that means that I will not be online at home this week (unless I sneak a look at my e-mail on my sister's computer). Thankfully, I still have my computer at the office, so I will still be able to read my e-mail and ( Read more... )

Oh no! I hope your new computer is wonderful, and never breaks.

If you click on the "links" heading at my website, you'll see a list of my own LOTR favorites. Maybe some of them will interest you.

Thanks! That will be most helpful - there's even a couple of sites I didn't have before that look really cool!

Since my desk drive (I think it's called) died on me I'm oh so careful to keep my picture on a separate disc and bookmark everything I find interesting and want to find again!

That's a good idea! While pictures are not the problem, once I get a new computer, I won't have my bookmarks anymore since I don't put them on a disc.

Baruch Dayan Ha'Emet.
That's pretty much the Hebrew equivalent of "RIP." Boy, we haven't had a lesson in a while...
Hope you get everything back together quickly!

Thanks! I would have been sorry to lose The Crumpet Shop link and of course, Marigold's Rec Page is essential. The other two links will be welcome additions!

(((hugs)))

I think I have pretty much all the emails we've exchanged on "Testaments". I'm worrying right now about trying to save those to a disk (and all my other files), as my Norton has run out, and we can't afford to renew for a couple more weeks. So keep your fingers crossed that mine hangs on until your new one's up and running. I live in daily dread of some virus or other eating my stuff again before I can figure out how to back stuff up!

I seem to have plenty of paper, and we have an unopened ink cartridge. I may try to consolidate all the stuff on "Testaments" and print out a hard-copy, just in case!

I'll send you some bookmarks as well, once you are back on track!

Hopefully, I'll be able to retrieve everything from the backup, especially since I think I might have had a couple of revisions I hadn't sent to you yet. I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed though - that would be plumb awful if we *both* lost all of that hard work! Fortunately, I still have most of the e-mails, including attachments, in my Yahoo e-mail account still, so even if we both go down, I'll still have most of the stuff there ( ... )
