For the username thing, you type [lj user=username] but replace the [ ] with < > brackets.

Hmm, now that I think about it I usually use quotation marks, but I just went and tested in on my journal, and it appears to work both ways. Which is neat. I'll try it again here, first one with quotes, second without:

Kids around 11-12 are delightful, so sensible but still with all the childish enthusiasm left. I'm afraid this will change soon - those pesky hormones wreaking havoc. It's not always fun to have a teenager around (though they are often perfect darlings around other adults :-P)
but it's not easy to be a teenager, either.

YAY for the party, and YAY for the return to the moon. I'm much to young to remember the first one (though not quite so young as Niki), but still yay.
