Still nto convinced he was evil .... infact I think she was amazingly non-commital. If he was really evil it woudl not be such a big issue.

Actually if you include the next answer after where you cut off I think it supports the "sanpe is not evil" camp. JKR says in answer to the last question above:

JKR: Well, there is information on that to come, in seven.

That is I think we will find out what Dumbledors "ironclad reason for trusting Snape" was. Granted we don't know that it will turn out valide ... but .... meh.

Maybe...

It's just before I was entirely convinced that Snape wasn't evil, now I'm just not sure. I guess we'll have to wait till #7. :)

Well you make a valid point. I know a lot of people who feel strongly .... but only one or two who have said they "feel sure" ..... I suspect Jo likes it this way.

I'm with dalf. It's amazing non-committal. But it seems that JKR enjoys watching people spin conspiracy theories, when there weren't necessary. e.g., H/Hr shippers--the straightforward interpreation in this was the correct interpretation.

Still, I'm not siding one way or the other--I can see it going both ways.
