Once upon a time, I used to attend mass with my friend D in a small hospital chapel near San Francisco. He loved the mass there because parking was easy, and lasted all of 30 minutes. If you're lucky enough, this kindly old Capuchin Friar would celebrate the mass, and he gave the most beautiful, simple sermons I've ever heard in my entire life

I may just have to copy this & email it to my cousin. he is a priest & he is officiating at my wedding. i know exactly how you feel about feeling a connection with the church and the officiant. i'm so excited for you (and i know that sounds a bit jaded considering we don't each other) but i do read through your blogs & i can very much relate to your experiences!
