I know the feeling. I still find this the best diary medium out here on the interwebs. Sadly the world has turned to one-liners and trivial updates and away from cogent entries with some personal depth.
It's odd to me, because I use LJ mostly for communities---and there are still *tons* of active communities out there. So I get a ton of traffic through my LJ feed, some of it very interesting and useful.
As far as personal blogging---well---I'm not a teenager anymore. The angst has gotten better. ;)
It doesn't help that LJ made it so you can't see posts on your friends' page older than two weeks anymore, and now you have to manually visit each journal on your friends list if you read less frequently than weekly.
