"Everything is so confusing now. Ever since we left Azure City, I feel like I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing." You're right Rich; you indeed have no idea what you're doing. Why not just STOP?!
What does that solve? Just stopping is quitter talk. It doesn't get you anywhere, and it doesn't improve the situation. You keep going, and you try to figure things out on the way. You can also stop and regroup, but that's risky, since you risk losing mementum. Even if you have no idea where you're going, it's still better to have momentum then not.
Wait, I transcended the metaphor, didn't I?
I understand perfectly why Burlew doesn't stop. YOU have no excuses.
And tonight, on our show "Burlew Goes Meta", Rich tells us what he thinks about his ability to creat non-stereotypical supporting characters: "Can you tell me anything about him that differentiates him from every other dwarf?" But, well, not being you, I actually like the guy's work. And I find his self-mockery refreshing. How was your ICon workshop?
It was mostly aboue the difference between "Good Injury" and "Bad Injury", where "Good Injury" is something that threatens something that matters to the character (like Haley's dad), that promotes dramatic tension and motivates teh character to do things, while "Bad Injury" is something that takes away options and Coolness Factor from the character, or worse, makes it totally ineffectual within the party (like the Mark of Justice after it was activated).

Can you give some examples to the stuff you wanted to demonstrate?
