Ramblings, Insights and the Vent

Have you ever had a day and asked why you do everything you do?

I thought I’d post to clear my head.
Lately I’ve been angry because those around me at times appear to discount my input and value. I’m the King of the world in almost every pursuit, I own or direct all of my semi-professional pursuit and with 22 years experience I really know what I’m ( Read more... )

I offer my empathy and a long distance, knowing yet reassuring, pat on the back.

Myself, from an admitted distance, appreciate what you do with Red Griffon and OKRF and that you make it look nearly effortless. I know however, from experience with several other organizations, that it is never really that way or it wouldn't appear effortless. I applaud you for taking the time to consider your own enjoyment, else it would be a job and more frustrating in the future.

I thought about you, at GStLRF, as my wenches and I roamed the streets. I thought about you as we interacted with patrons who had never had the kind of in-your-face interaction that we are trained to do by you and your team, patrons who were loving it. I thought about you as we interacted with a cast who, for the most part, seemed well meaning but clueless and completely unsure of what to do with us and our style of interaction.

I thought about you, and wished we could clone you and your team and rent you to St. Louis (I'm unwilling to give up the original, thank you very much...their faire overlaps ours too much!) so they could learn from you what we are blessed to learn for free.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and time with us for yet another successful run. It's easy to see how hard you guys are working when things go wrong, but when things are sailing smoothly, like a duck gliding through water, it's easy to forget about the legs paddling furiously underneath.

*hugs*

Ditto this. We, while attempting failed interactions with cast members, constantly remarked on how they just didn't know what to do.

One of the reasons I now consider OKRF my home faire instead of the one where I live, is because it is obvious to any who choose to look how much you care, and how hard you work. *hug*

Thank you, I'm glad to have people like you around who do so well.

Two reasons. 1) Because, despite all the aggravation, its a lot more entertaining than most things one can be doing. 2) Every time you can make a difference in someone's life because of how entertained they were by a given antic, line or quip.

I have to say every time we talked about OKRF to others we, especially PDA brought up you as the ED and talked of the success of your program. Praised your leading style and the fact you are a working performer and don't ask your cast to do anything you do not do yourself. You lead well, and by example. Sorry we kept all your kudos behind your back.

I enjoy both you and Kent. I'm glad that my efforts are positive, the stage acts get so little attention at OKRF,
