Sometimes we don’t have to look too far to find the people who persecute members of the LGBTQ+ Community(s).

I'm bisexual and have had a lot of these sorts of things said to me. And generally I've found that heterosexual people are more accepting of me than gay people.

This. One of my best friends at work is gay, and I didn't have the courage to come out as bi to him until about a year of working together. He was totally accepting, but I have found that he is the exception and not the rule.

I kind of hate how its become a thing to throw around words like 'privilege' and 'persecution' where they aren't really relevant.

I've got another one. I've heard lesbians tell bisexual women and even less masculine acting lesbians that they aren't "lesbian" enough, and there's even one girl I know who says things like "Well, real gay people do/don't like/dislike whatever." I said I liked Brokeback Mountain and she said "Well, real gay people hate that movie. Real gay people know that's not real." Um... go watch any rom-com and tell me how "real" you think that is.
