★ Part 1 Joining Criteria ★
- If it is your first time joining, your journal must be at least 1 month old.
- There are no exceptions to this rule.
- Your second journal (for example, GSJ members typically decide later on they want a journal solely dedicated to sales) does not have to be 1 months old. However, during the application process, please make note that it is not your first journal as well as the username of your first journal. You also need to apply with your sales journal according to the three steps in Part 2.
- You must provide proof of credibility (aka positive feedback).
- We accept both feedback as a seller and as a buyer.
- We require at least 3 positive feedbacks, each from a different person.
- These feedbacks may not be more than 2 years old.
- DO NOT create feedbacks yourself .g. by making dummy LJ accounts, we will know and your application will be immediately rejected!
- DO NOT provide links to feedbacks that you have written for others. Your application should only include feedbacks others have written for you.
- NOTE: the current Etsy.com default setting means that we can't see your feedbacks (only ones you've written are visible). Please make sure that the feedbacks written by others for your account is visible too.
- In certain instances under the best judgments of the mods, 3 positive feedbacks may not be sufficient (i.e. you have negative feedback, the feedback looks fake, the feedback is old).
- You will be asked to provide further information.
- Joining without feedback We are no longer doing this, however, if you can provide a convincing argument, we may accept you even if you do not have 3 positive feedback.
★ Part 2 Joining Steps ★
- Step 1: Please comment in this post with your request to join (click 'Post a new comment') in the following format;
- Your comment MUST include the following:
- Livejournal username (text only format)
- Feedback(s):An HTTP Link (e.g. ebay, etsy, livejournal feedback page). This can be as a seller and/or as a buyer.
- Other LJ account (past/present), if any, with garagesalejapan: (if none, please answe none)
- Your current location: (city/state/country)
- Read the GSJ rules and state 3 things that are not allowed at GSJ: This is to test that you have actually carried out step #3 AND have read this page properly. Please write this in your own words (don't copy word for word). Any three rules would be fine. nbsp Follow this format for your 3 rules: I must/can/will not.......
- Your comment MUST include the following:
- Step 2: Please make sure that you have read and understood the GSJ community rules as stated here!
★ Part 3 Feedback Verification ★
- We will PM all feedback accounts directly to verify the identity of the feedback holder. Please do not provide feedback links that could not be verified via PM or some other means.
- If you do not intend to reply via this method, please do not provide the link as proof.
- Accounts that cannot be verified via PM:
- e.g. Dens of Angel feedback - unless your DoA feedback page has a direct link to your LJ account, we cannot accept your feedback.
- We will not accept links to the feedback account from your journal. This just prove that you can edit your own journal, not that the feedback account belongs to you!
- Once we have received a reply to our PM, we will process your application.

Special Notes:
- Do NOT reply to an unscreened comment unless it is to YOUR APPLICATION THREAD. All of our comments will be headed by your username with the middle letters blanked out so that you can ID it. If the subject title does not look like your username, DO NOT REPLY TO IT! Turn ON your email message alerts to receive the correct response!
- ALL applications with a feedback accounts that can be PMed (e.g. ebay) will not receive a visible (unscreened) reply. If you have applied with an ebay feedback, please check your ebay messages for PMs!
- Do not apply if you are unsure as to whether you wish to join. We usually have a large volume of applicants to process, processing your application when you will renege on it later will slow our process down.
- Make sure you are logged in when you post. We don't know who you are if you post anonymously.
- DO NOT DELETE YOUR POSTEven if we've already approved your membership. All posts are screened and are therefore not visible to the public! If you delete your post, your membership may be revoked!
- All IPs are screened for potential scamming/spamming addresses. This is private and we will not divulge the information to anyone, however it is an added protection against return scammers.
- We prefer feedbacks that are in English (if in other languages, please make sure that its easily translatable).
