I just answered a call from a woman with a wonderful southern drawl. As soon as I asked for her phone number on the order and she said "828..." I knew I was talking to someone close to home. Turns out she lives in Blowing Rock. She stays at the Appalachian loft with her husband when they visit. We chatted for 5 minutes. it was spectacular.

I could give you my grandmother's phone number if you're that homesick.

It's too bad most movies with Southern characters don't have Southern actors, so the accents get horrendously butchered. And then most of the real accents in movies are from the deep South, so it still sounds foreign.
