well i've been here in denver since thursday, with erin n and her family. fri and sat we took roadtrips to the mountains, driving all around and walking a bridge over a 1000 foot deep gorge. we pet some goats and a yak, took pictures of a baby bison and sheep. and today is teh big day--erin's graduation! as i type, she is putting her makeup on and ( Read more... )

Hey there! I believe it was called the Royal Gorge...? It was about a 45min or so drive outside of Denver.

Yes! Royal Gorge is in Canon City -- about half an hour from Penrose, Colorado where I spent my childhood. Royal Gorge is a little further than that from Denver, but I can't imagine it being any other bridge. That's great that you were there -- it's not exactly a common area to visit. I'll have to make it out there again sometime soon.

My friend's dad is the one who looked into it and got us all to go. It was amazing! What a beautiful area you grew up in. :o) It was bizarre on my flight home from seeing spread out land and mountains in Denver to the clustered, cement-filled world of the city here when I got back.
