Interviewing...

I have determined that going to an agency on two separate occasions to interview, and not being seen, really sucks. I went in today AGAIN to the same agency that I went to Tuesday. Long Story short, I waited around for 45 minutes, until I had to head into work. The receptionist seemed surprised and said "I thought the interview was canceled..." I

That is absolutely ridiculous! I can't believe how unprofessional they are being. Not once, but twice? They need to get their ducks in a row, seriously. Sorry they crapped all over you, honey. But way to go for standing up for yourself!

Dude... if they are that crappy trying to INTERVIEW.... you certainly don't want to work there. I would take any referrals from them with a grain of salt as well. They have to sell YOU the job position, not the other way around. That way you increase the chances that you will end up somewhere that you like. =-)

Yea, I definitely agree. They were the ones who called me last week initially responding to my resume sent back in May. Very true, it must say a lot about them as an organization. I faxed to their Manhattan main office, as well as Queens offices just to see what happens--perhaps they are more organized, I don't know. I am able to get fulltime hours at Ticket Central, and hope to do more teaching artist work in the fall, so I am ok where I'm at right now, so I don't feel desperate or anything for these jobs. I'll go on interviews for the experience, see what happens, and if nothing comes up I'll keep doing what I'm doing. I do find it ironic that after I gave my notice to babysitting last week, I've gotten a couple calls (this agency in question, as well as another one)--after hearing nothing for months now.
