In Character Information
character name: Kain Highwind
Fandom: Final Fantasy IV
Timeline: Near the end of the game, before Mount Ordeals.
character's age: 21
powers, skills, pets and equipment: Being a dragoon knight Kain has the abilities of a dragoon, his main focus is on physical power rather than magic so as one would guess he's is physically much more powerful that some of the others in his group. He uses a range of weapons from axes to daggers but his main weapon is a spear which he also uses as a combination with his signature move, Jump. When using this move Kain can jump high in the air and become airborne where his is able to avoid most attacks, then with all his might plunge down on his enemies with his spear aimed at them.
In addition, although his magic stats are low, he is able to use it to a good extent though not as much as his friends.
canon history:
Wikis are my friend personality: At the beginning of the game Kain is quite the good loyal soldier, he's Commander of the Baron Dragoons (a special type of knight) and wishes to uphold his father's, the Dragoon's, and his own honor and will sometimes do so to extreme lengths to show how strong he is. Even following the orders of his king with no questions asked. He holds very high expectations of himself after all and prefers to do things on his own. Wanting to uphold this honor Kain will often flaunt his strength in a more or less suitable way making him come off as just a tiny bit conceited at times, this also means he's not the type to back down from a fight and if he thinks he can take someone or something on he will no matter the consequences. Furthermore, this puts Kain at being blunt in nature, he'll call you a fool or a moron without any hesitation and he'll almost never sugar coat anything. It's all for the honor. Really.
Regardless of this, Kain still holds a gentle soul and a kind facade on the inside. After accidently killing Rydia's mother by killing her eidolon, the mist dragon, both Cecil and Kain do feel a great deal of remorse for the unlikely incident and wish for forgiveness despite the fact knowing full well that neither would probably receive it nor deserve it. Kain is the type that will feel guilt for days on end and brood on things longer than he should. Unfortunately for him, this also means along with holding guilt for long periods of time, he holds feelings of envy and jealously for even longer. This is proven when he confesses to both Cecil and Rosa that he's always held feelings for Rosa and held envy for the fact that she liked Cecil instead of him, however he kept quiet about it due to his guilt for feeling jealousy in the first place. Instead he makes Cecil his rival.
Kain is a turmoil of emotions on the inside which he tries to keep covered at all times, meaning he comes off as being an aloof individual and often voicing neutral opinions on some matters (there are exceptions to this however). Although this turmoil of emotions leaves him with a weak mind and leads him to being mind controlled in the game several times, to put it quite frankly...his mind sucks. :|
But! There is one thing that can bring out the good in him more so than anything else. And that thing actually being a person, who happens to be a young woman by the name of Rosa. Kain has strong feelings for her and will do just about anything for Rosa even if it means going against his own will. She's even good mind control repellent, Rosa's the only person who can break Kain free of mind control just with her presence. As already said she brings out the kindness in him, in the game after Kain and Cecil burn the Village of Mist to the ground they pledge not to follow the king's orders anymore, Kain stating he's doing it for Rosa more than anything.
So although over all Kain has a lot of negative qualities, he still sides with good instead of evil, he'll never wish for the destruction of the world and will stop it if he can. He's loyal to his friends (but especially Rosa to a much greater extent) despite his attitude.
why do you feel this character would be appropriate to the setting? Kain's already been in a world where he spends a lot of time fighting monsters and saving the world from a crazy big jerk guy, the setting will be perfect for him. Plus the idea of the mist messing with his head is ironically fitting for Kain. :|b

Network Post Sample:
[the forge kicks on , on the screen a tall man in blueish armor and a dragon head shaped helmet (covering everything but his mouth) can be seen. Kain holds up the device looking directly at the screen and a frown appears, he looks annoyed at the sudden change of events]
Anatole....that is where I've been told I am at the moment. Can someone state the location of this city? This isn't anywhere near Baron, that much I know.
[he makes a sound of irritation and places the forge upright in front of him so he no longer has to hold it, and crosses his arms looking off in the distance]
I have to get back imediately, I have no time to waste here. Someone point me the way out.
This D_M post here too. Third Person Sample: The fog was proving to be too much for Kain as he continued to step vigorously through it with a blind eye. He could see nothing in front of him but white, it was just white for miles on end and the occasional sounds of small creatures surrounding him. He grunted at his lack of focus but still moved forward refusing to give up just because of some mist. The mist was actually a real pain for him, he wanted nothing more than to return home to the sealed cave where he was fighting to retrieve the crystals back, the others needed him.
Taking another step he stopped to look at both of his arms as he noticed them giving off a slight tingling sensation , now the mist was dancing around them almost like it was a snake. Tch! What a nuisance, did it really have a mind of its own? Wait...Now Kain was starting to feel lightheaded, white was turning into black and his knees starting to shake. The grip on his spear tightened and his head lowered, before he knew his entire body collapsed to a somewhat lifeless pile on the dirty ground.
Kain had blacked out, several hours for that matter, and he didn't awaken until he found himself lying on a soft bed in Anatole, one of the locals had brought him there despite being frightened of his armor. He slowly sat up on the bed clutching his head and looking around, the Dragoon spotted his savior who was standing by a far distance. He was an odd fellow really and Kain regarded him with curiosity as he frowned at the local man and gave him a flattest expression yet.
"...Where am I?"
"Anatole."
…Really now. Kain sighed and shook his head, he was already starting to feels signs of deja-vu.
Anything else? No sir!
