why do you keep a journal? what do you mostly write about in your journal (your deep thoughts, or to keep track of what you did that day
( Read more... )
Well I first got a LJ account to comment on your postings (and to meet girls, j/k!). My #1 reason for having a journal is for entertainment purposes. I don't have deep thoughts very often so that can't be a reason.
I read yours for entertainment - I like reading about your ranting & raving and I do care what you did that day.
For my public entries, it's mostly to see if others feel or have felt what I'm feeling at the moment. To see if I'm not crazy and others do feel the same way. Sometimes I ask for advice. And sometimes it's to brag and be narcissistic.
For my friends only entries, it's for deeper feelings, rants and ravings.
And for my private ones, it's to sort out my thoughts, to write out things I can't actually say.... it's the most journal-like section of my blog.
I read your entries for entertainment purposes like Brian said.
I write in mine nowadays mostly to recount events and situations that happen. In the past it's the same albeit slanted slightly more towards more serious thoughts and internal dialogue. It's also a great way of making sure I still know how to write, and sometimes it's fun to try and express myself using words in a somewhat cryptic manner.
I read your's for entertainment, I like to read other people's blogs primarily because it's a way of living vicariously through others, and also a good way of just reading. Except with LJ, it's short and easy to digest versus reading long drawn out novels (of which I haven't read in years lol!)
And no, I don't particular "care" about anyone's journals, unless it concerns me directly, again...it's simply to read, be entertained and sometimes learn.
I keep my journal cuz I get bored at work, and because I like expressing myself so that all my thoughts and feelings are poured out to some medium other than in my mind. It keeps me sane. Really personal posts are either private, filtered, or placed somewhere else on the Net where I can get opinions from random people who I don't know at all. Unbiased opnions are useful sometimes.
I usually write about things I do, online tests I've taken, and other interesting tidbits of information that I think my readers would like to know about.
I read yours because if I don't, you'll beat me up.
I care very much about what you write. I'm replying to this post, aren't I?
Oh wtf is this crap... Cripes now I have to think about it. I don't know... to meet hot chicks or something. It's been like five years now! Why did I say I was starting a journal five years ago? I don't know I don't read my journal. Let me think. Probably because I was bored. I think it all started with me having WAY too much time on my hands and wanting to break up with my then GF.
What do I write about? I think it's mostly streams of consciousness.
Why am I reading your journal? Hell if I know. I still want that Ox Tail Soup? Your journal is like the Hotel California. You can check out anytime you like but you can never leave.

This is one of the rare occasions where I'm not annoyed that someone spelt my name wrong - because you've never seen it in print!
It's Bryan, btw. :)
