I finally listened to the last five years in order, sequentially, all at once, the way it was intended to be experienced. It was really interesting. Jason Robert Brown really is quite a genious composer in a lot of ways. But what i really think makes this play worth a damn is that it makes musical theater a legitimate art form for me. Sorry, I was going through one of those rare "critique something like evan" moments. But seriously...this play is amazing. buy the cd. it's so different.

i'm going to have to give that a listen then, because i'm just about ready to give up on musical theater... i can't stnad the big, showy, in-your-face acting that isn't really acting that musicals require.
