Arisia is probably too soon. Readercon? If you're talking about "the world of writers and readers", that's the one to go to. You would have to wait until July, admittedly.
(I'd like to see you at Boskone...but dude, POOL. SUN. LOUNGING. I'll be at Readercon, too.)
I know, I'm completely insane to be asking whether there's a real choice to be made here. Thanks for weighing in, though. Will you be at Arisia? Is it worth dropping everything and going to?
I will be at Arisia (this year I'm even on some panels). Whether it'd be worth dropping everything to go...I don't know what to tell you. It's not as lit-focused as Boskone (let alone Readercon), it's significantly larger and more crowded, and the main hotel's been full for a while so you'd have to go with one of the overflow hotels and deal with the logistics of that (there will be shuttles, but still).
Since the program schedule and participants list are up, you should look at those to get an idea of whether it'll be worth it to you.
Yeah. Clearly, I'm just looking for validation here: no, I am not a bad person for skipping some socialization, albeit with lovely people, in favor of a week in the sun.
