yeah, i definitely feel like high school is definitely a chapter in one's life that isn't so much in the same book so much as one of the first in a series. not everything carries over into the next installment, but some characters do, if you're lucky. that's not to say though, that what has developed in the first chapter doesn't have any effect on the rest of the story
