I remember when "Firefly" came out (really?! 10 years ago already?!) but I didn't actually watch it until years after it was canceled. My roommate had the DVDs and made me watch it. It started out weak, but it ended up being such a good show. So sad it never made it anywhere! :-( Despite being a Whedon fan, I didn't originally watch it because I wasn't into space westerns... then it turns out it's so much more. Bad marketing!

I found the sci-fi/western combination a little weird at first, but then I got used to it and liked it just fine. And this was in the day when sci-fi in general didn't do it for me (I've sure been accumulating sci-fi shows since then, though). Whedon really knows how make me like an odd concept. It's so sad that it didn't get a chance to continue.

I don't understand why networks put shows on the air, then don't market them properly. It's not like the shows didn't cost them lots of money to make. And sci-fi shows are even more expensive since there are so many effects involved.
