It turns out that a closed oven with the light on is the perfect place to put bread to rise. The light apparently gives off just enough heat to make it the perfect temperature for yeast to go nuts, but not so hot that they all die off. Seriously, the bread dough was like "WHOOSH! Apparently optimal range is 75-90 degrees. Covering the bowl is supposed to help too. I'm not sure why too much oxygen is bad, but that's what I've been told. Covering the bowl with saran wrap seems to make for a much better rise.
