"You're getting that look again, Dimka," Ivan scolded his friend. "The one that says you're responsible for everyone in the world."

Maybe he wasn't responsible for everyone, but Dimitri certainly felt like he should've been more responsible for Ivan. "Just a select few," Dimitri answered.

"So only three-quarters of the world," he said lightly. "It's amazing you manage to cut it down that far."

There wasn't a lot Dimitri could say that wasn't incredibly apologetic or awkward, so he shrugged, the breeze off the water catching his hair and blowing it around. "The Strigoi have helped with that."
