It was a good thing that Dimitri was sitting outside. It meant, among other things, that he could hear the disgruntled yowls of a little bobcat who no longer had the thumbs necessary to open the doors to the MCA.

She trotted around to the side of the building with Dimitri's balcony and sat down, meowing pathetically as she looked up towards the apartment.

Poor, sad bobcat who used to be a certain radio broadcaster.

What was truly sad was that Dimitri thought he recognized that particular yowl. He stood and leaned over the balcony to see just what was screaming so pathetically.

Of course it was a tiny bobcat.

"Again?" Really, he could not catch a break.

Person! The bobcat yowled again as she looked up at him. It was a good thing dhampir night vision was so good because he could see the absolutely pathetical look in the kitten's eyes.

Again. But Rose would argue that it was totally her who couldn't catch a break.

That look always killed him unfairly. "You're a bobcat," Dimitri reminded her from his spot on the balcony. "Climb the tree up here if you don't want to go back to the cabins."

Though, to be fair, the cabins probably served a better scratching post than the baseboard of his bed.
