Nothing felt strange. Even with his books and clothing stowed and shipped off to Montana to avoid airport fees, the apartment still felt like someone lived there. Shelley plopped down on a chair across from the sofa and stared at her soon to be former roommate, her head tilting from side to side as she contemplated what to say.

Dimitri saw her looking a little confused and thought he'd try to ease it. "It's going to be fine. You'll get a new roommate." Probably not one very interested in his giant bed, but that was not his problem.

"And you're sure you don't want this furniture?" she asked for what probably seemed the hundredth time. "I've got two folding camp chairs I could put out here. They're really nice." They were actually really uncomfortable, but pink, which made up for just about any imperfection in Shelley's mind.

Dimitri shook his head. "I know it's strange to you, but I won't need furniture where I'll be living. It may as well stay here where it looks nice." Also, she'd helped pick it out. It's not like anyone would believe it was his.

Jaina couldn't pass up saying goodbye to Dimitri, even though she knew trying to convince him that he and Rose couldn't leave would be pointless and she was going to have to suck it up and deal. So in the morning, she headed across the hall, knocking at the door.
