Vent was asleep in the room he and Ashe were made to share shared. Or rather, it was more accurate to say that he was trying to sleep, but there were a number of things on his mind.
There was Aile. Suddenly finding someone the guardian of... well, someone who was essentially yourself was surreal. Or rather, it was surreal in that it wasn't surreal. Aile had become like family to him overnight...
Then there was Giro. He seemed to be adjusting to being back home, but... at the same time, Vent sensed that his time with Siarnaq was more traumatic than it it appeared.
... And of course... there was Ashe. Thoughts of her were more present than the other two, and he kept going back to the conversation that they had had over the D-Comms. It made him happy, but at the same time... he was constantly nervous of saying the wrong thing.
Or repeating what he'd done in Mt. Mars.
So distracted was he by these thoughts, was that he didn't notice Ashe's restlessness across the room... or the fact that she'd gotten up and was now moving towards him.
