Yes, but it is also the name of their species. Not only is it confusing when more then one of the same kind are around, but I just feel that calling them by their species name is a little disrespectful.

It is kind of like someone saying to you, "Hey human, come over here." Or, like someone calling to me with, "Hey, you machine!"

That is why I decided to call him Randar.
