I wonder how people who are obviously not bad people, can renounce feelings they so obviously display. I guess if it's normal to do so, it doesn't seem odd.

I wonder if there are any magic books in the library.

Some people aren't comfortable displaying their feelings. I don't think it has anything to do with 'good or bad.'

I understand that much, I've just never experienced someone who so vehemently tries to insist they don't need any of the positive emotions, yet was not a horrible person out to cause harm.

It's probably a conflict inside themselves, somewhere. They might change their mind if you're patient.

Oh I understand. I guess what I meant was just, I'm not used to running into such people, so it's interesting to meet those outside my frame of reference.

People have their reasons.

They might not always be the best ones, but they're important enough to change them.

They do, and it's important to understand their reasons. Though, at the same time, it doesn't hurt to try and bring out the good things people bury down inside them.

I would love to get to know everyone better, there are so many worlds represented, there's no reason to not see how others are. Especially on things I take for granted.

Of course. Understanding their reasons is half the battle, to try and understand their heart. Once you can do that, then you can find a way to bring out love that people try to bury deep down inside themselves.

I think that's a wonderful wish, Lute.

If only everyone could have love hidden deep down like that.

Isn't it only natural to want to get to know people better?

I have found little evidence that there is anything genuinely magic in the library. Besides what I have enchanted myself.

Oh, that's a pity. I was really looking forward to reading about magic from other worlds.

Indeed.

Well, even if there aren't any now, maybe some will show up. If you find any strange texts, can you tell me? I would love to look at them.

It's become far too natural for people to be willing to hide their true feelings. It's very... saddening.

It is. I think if we were all more open, we could learn to get along better, and find that we aren't all so different from one another.

I agree whole-heartedly. Though some people put up walls because they've been hurt before...

Which is sad, but I understand. Maybe one day people won't have to worry about such things.
