Avatar Review...

I'll start by saying the following. There's rarely a movie that immerses me heart and soul as far as James Cameron's Avatar did. There's rarely a movie that gives me flights of fantasy that even now threaten to haunt my dreams for weeks to come. I -adored- Avatar. There were several parts in it that just reminded me of Home -so- much... It was very beautiful.. i want to go watch it like.. five more times. ~sigh~

I'm glad you enjoyed Avatar so much! I liked it, but was not dazzled by it; on the other hand, I've found it endlessly interesting to watch the various reactions to the film. Some of the people whose own values would be best supported by the film's thematic undercurrents are those who condemn it the most harshly.

I like movies and fiction as an escape from reality.

That may account for the difference in our reactions. I most value movies that have me thinking for long periods afterwards, regardless of how I responded during the movie itself.
